The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
The contact owns a 2008 Suzuki SX4. While the vehicle was parked the contact noticed the air bag light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact stated the air bag light stayed on constantly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technicians stated the seat cushion was bent or broken which needed to be replaced due to the grid underneath the seat, which was connected to the air bag sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 39,000.

Air bag warning light on my 2008 Suzuki SX4 came on for no apparent reason. Vehicle has less than 35,000 miles. Dealer states it is a sensor problem and can be repaired for $1,200. Internet research has revealed this problem as a common problem for this model Suzuki. One mechanic at dealership stated not to worry airbags would still deploy in the event of an accident. Another mechanic disputed this statement and said they would not. As stated earlier I have seen numerous complaints of this same problem on many different websites.

Shortly after I purchased my car I told the dealer that the passenger airbag indicator light was saying it was off occasionally, even when people were sitting in it. They told me the person must be "sitting in the seat wrong." I asked them about it again a week ago and they said "they must be sitting in the seat wrong." I said it didn't matter how the person is sitting, it still comes on. Then they told me it depends on the weight of the person sitting in the passenger seat. I said it was happening with someone 150 pounds and 250 pounds. Then they told me it was a "design flaw with the car" and they couldn't do anything about it.
