Scott was traveling on a highway and attempted to exit the highway; however, as he attempted to brake, he noticed H was not slowing down, and that it appeared that his brakes has given out. He was able to safely slow down the vehicle and pull to the shoulder. He observed a small amount of smoke emanating from his vehicle. Upon exiting the vehicle and opening the hood, he saw more smoke and flames between the engine and firewall. He advised his passenger to exit the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2005 Suzuki Verona. The contact stated that while the vehicle was being inspected at the dealer, the inspector noticed a hole in the cradle that held the engine. The dealer stated that the cradle needed to be replaced. The dealer did not replace the cradle. The failure mileage was 45,000.
