Verona 6-cyl

  • 57,000 miles
I purchased the 2004 Suzuki Verona last year from a third party. The engine stalls in the middle of the street. It completely stops. Last year it stopped completely and would not turn on. Luckily no cars were behind me. I had to call the tow truck and fix it. The problem was with the fuel injection. I went online and checked for recall. There were recalls for the engine stall but only for 2004. The corporate office informed me that since it was a 2005 year, they cannot fix the problem. I spent almost $700 and now the problem started arising again last Saturday. The engine almost stalled. I called the corporate office again and after giving my VIN # they said that no recall have been listed with that VIN number. They even said that here were no other recall for that year and make which I know is not true. I called the national highway people and they said that there are 2 recall for that year and make but the corporate office tells me that there is none. I would be happy if you could give me some information on the recall for that VIN number. My reference number is [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The contact owns a 2005 Suzuki Verona. When the vehicle was first purchased, it pulled to the right. The vehicle was taken to the dealer because both the check engine and tire pressure lights illuminated. The dealer replaced the tire pressure sensor, but the failure still occurred. When he attempted to start the vehicle, it would not start and the battery was nearly drained. In March of 2008, the failure recurred and the vehicle failed to start. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer again and they could not duplicate the failure. The purchase date was unknown. The current mileage was 32,000 and failure mileage was approximately 250.

On or about July 26, 2005, dr. ____purchased a 2005 Suzuki Verona ex from the Suzuki depot. Since that time, the vehicle has undergone a multitude of problems, many of which Suzuki has been unable or unwilling to fix. Since its purchase eleven months ago, the vehicle has exhibited air conditioning problems, car seat warmer problems, car door problems, recurring engine light problems and, most recently, shaking and lurching issues which have rendered the vehicle unsafe to operate. Over the course of the past several months, the vehicle's engine light has been enlightened on a consistent basis. When dr. ____first brought the vehicle in for service, the service department diagnosed a engine throttle problem. Unfortunately, repairs proved ineffective and the problems quickly resurfaced causing dr. ____ to return the vehicle for repair on two additional occasions. Willing to give Suzuki yet another chance, on May 30, 2006, dr. _____ brought the vehicle in for the fourth time as the engine light continued to turn on and off intermittently. What did happen was that the engine issues persisted, causing dr. ______to bring his vehicle to the service department for a fifth time on June 6, 2006, at which time he spoke to service manager johnny viera. Over the course of the past several weeks, dr. _______ has continued to drive the vehicle notwithstanding the engine related problems. Now, however, the vehicle jerks and shakes when driven rendering it potentially unsafe to operate. Frankly, we believe enough is enough and are no longer interested in wasting dr. ______'s time while ineffectual repair attempts are made. The vehicle, quite clearly, can only be considered a "lemon" and demand is hereby made that Suzuki take possession of the vehicle and refund the full purchase price and all associated costs to dr. ____.
