My husband thankfully was able to change the three timing chains, tensioners and rollers but it took three days to do so. Spared us 1500 dollars thank goodness but from what I have seen this has happened way too often for Suzuki to not have made a recall on this issue. There is even a timing chain repair kit that they now offer so that should tell them something about their cheaply made vehicles! Beautiful interior and exterior but crappy engine and electrical system!

I realize this is all after the fact, but the Suzuki 2007 XL7 has been a good truck to drive overall. It is symptomatic of the same problem (again) and I am hesitant to repair it (again) vs. replace an engine! I have less than 50 K mileage on the second set of timing chains.
Open to suggestion of a compatible engine NOT IN THE SAME engine model series!
