About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
Last month in August my husband stayed in the car while I ran into store, out of habit I locked the door with the auto lock control. I live in Florida and the temperature in Aug. Is extremely hot. After a little while he went to open the door and couldn't open the door or roll the windows down it was all locked up. He didn't have his keys to my car on him and to top it off he has claustrophobia. When I came back to the car he was blasting the horn and screaming at me for locking him in. He did not have his cell phone on him that day either. I told him to just undo the locks. He tried. I didn't believe him so he locked me in the same way. I could not get out either. He would have had to kick the window out to get out. He is so traumatized over the event that he has nightmares over it. This is a really bad safety feature.
