My 2008 XL7 has had many problems in the last couple of years. The sunroof has kept leaking into the cabin lights and into the driver's side ceiling requiring 2 visit to a body shop to fix the seal. My transmission control required replacing due to my car jerking between 2nd and 3rd gear. My driver's side window keeps coming off the track. My back doors no longer unlock except from the inside. My right passenger window no longer rolls down at all. Now my paint is peeling above both the driver and passenger windows. The paint looked bumpy and peeled off after a recent storm. Underneath is a white powder coating and it's rusted underneath as well.

My Suzuki XL-7 paint has peeled off the back door and the top of the car a mechanic stated its a triple coat paint job because of the color which is pearl white. The is definitely a manufacture problem but they are pathetic. The paint is peeling so bad I'm scared to wash the vehicle because the paint may come off! then the electrical is worse I get in the door chime goes through the speakers at high volume. The stability control keeps cutting off and on and so does the check engine light.

Because of faulty primer, the paint on my 2008 XL7 is now peeling off and bubbling. Suzuki refuses to do anything about it. It is too expensive to fix so when I go to trade it in, it will be worth little to nothing. I will never buy another Suzuki again simply based on the lack of customer service. Mine is not the only white XL7 this has happened to. There are many more complaints when you search the internet where Suzuki has done nothing. It's sad because it was a really classy vehicle and not it looks like a hot mess! it doesn't seem like Suzuki would want their brand being represented like this as you can clearly tell the paint problem was not caused by an accident but is a true defect.

Front door locks would not respond to key fob and would stay locked. Had to use key to get into the car. Got it fixed under warranty. Now, rear locks intermittently wont respond to fob. Either the rear doors stay locked( and cannot even be opened with the handle from the inside) or sometimes they wont lock when you leave the car. The lock/unlock button inside the car does not override the situation. This vehicle has no key option for the rear doors. Thankfully, no one has been stuck in the rear seats and unable to get out. No rhyme or reason as to when it happens and when they will start working again. Cant trust that the car is securely locked or that people can get out when it decides that it doesn't want the doors to unlock.

The contact owns a 2008 Suzuki XL7. The contact stated that the struts that held the rear trunk hatch in place failed, and caused the hatch to abruptly strike the contact on the head while in the rear of the vehicle. The dealer was notified who advised the contact to bring the vehicle in for repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 31,000.
