My 85KWH battery is only delivering about 50 KWH or less over a 10 day period between charges. Even assuming that the available energy is only 81 KWH, I am clearly getting less than 70% of effective battery capacity. My daily commute currently gets only about 120 miles from a charge, instead of about 250 when I bought the car.
I spent months texting and emailing with a Tesla engineer. I provided ample photographic proof of the battery leakage from the dash statistics, but he insisted the battery capacity was about 98% of original, and refused to replace the battery under the warranty.
Interestingly, I didn't notice the problem for a long time because I used to have a convenient at-home charging system, and charged the car every few days. However, since moving to a smaller house where charging is inconvenient, I usually drain the battery from 90% to about 10% between charges. That's when I realized the problem. My guess is that many thousands of others have the same problem, but don't appreciate it because they are charging at shorter intervals.
