I was pulling out of my garage (in reverse) and heard a awful grinding sound from the front driver’s tire. It only happened at slow speeds especially when turning the wheel.
Contacted Tesla service (by text only since no one answers the phone) and got an appointment only 2 weeks in the future. This is ridiculous and I can’t wait for 2 weeks! So I took the car to a nearby Wheelworks, and they diagnosed the issue for a fee. They do good work with suspensions and tires.
Wheelworks said that the front control arm is broken and the car is not safe to drive. So I have to tow it to a Tesla facility. Looks like it will cost about $2,100 to fix.
The car only has about 53,800 miles and this SHOULD NOT happen so soon!
THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I’m very disappointed in the quality of the suspension and in the very slow response of Tesla service.
I read that there is a class action suit pending. Any update on it?
