problem #1

Dec 172008

4Runner V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

Battery light came on, indicating a charging problem. Then I made the mistake of taking the car to the Dealership to have it fixed. Looking back I would have either replaced the alternator myself or taken it to Meinike. $805 to replace the alternator, serpentine belt, and add a protective plate. The newer 4Runners have a protective plate to keep water and debris out of the alternator. Merry Christmas Toyota!!
