4Runner SR5

  • Automatic transmission
  • 148,000 miles

Initially, the Freon leak was slow enough to just require a can or two a year. Then a can a month, then it wouldn't hold it for any length of time. Still not sure where the leak is. Waiting to see if the transmission is going to get fixed.

Update from Sep 21, 2021: Transmission finally got fixed, and went forward with the a/c repair as well. Leak was finally found in the evaporator core, way inside the dashboard (most expensive place). Whole dashboard had to be ripped out to get to it.
