4Runner Limited 4.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,595 miles

Toyota does not stand by their products and it unwilling to warranty or solve a frame problem that has been a problem for many of their vehicles. Frame has been rusting for quite some time and now has holes rusted through and is unsafe to drive. Purchased vehicle due to history of Toyota and their safety record and the fact that they say they will back their product. Obviously this is misleading and we have been stuck with a vehicle that is unsafe to drive and were told by a service person that it would be unsafe to drive our family around in.

We now have a very expensive yard ornament that must remain parked until Toyota admits the issue and will recall the frame of their 4 runner. Apparently there have not been enough complaints 520,000K+ to consider this a manufacturers defect.

4Runner SRS V6

  • Automatic transmission

the back hatch has several rowing rust spots around the chore

I bought this 4 runner about 5 years ago and I love it. But the rear hatch started signs of rust within a year or two of when I bought it. The rust has been growing and becoming more evident now. To my knowledge there were no accidents or alterations made to the hatch so I'm presuming this is the original paint job. The rust is around the corners now of the chrome "4 Runner" emblem. Very annoying and I think it must be an original issue with some 4 runners. Very disappointing! What can I do?
