I love my 4Runner and previously owned a Sequoia. Since purchasing it, the brakes definitely felt much different than the Sequoia as it seemed to lock or slip during a hard brake or on wet surfaces. Yesterday, I was backing into my driveway. It was drizzling and I noticed that I was too close to a tree as I was backing down the driveway. I stepped on my brake quickly and the brakes locked and I slid into another tree smashing my rear passenger quarter panel, shattering my rear side window, crushing my bumper and tail light. Because my driveway is a hill, I didn’t even hit the accelerator, I just let my foot off the brake and when it started going down the hill I quickly stepped on the brake. And, as luck would have it, I just switched insurance companies that morning. Now I’m stuck with having to pay repair costs out of pocket so my premium won’t increase. My 4Runner is now at a body shop awaiting an estimate.
