Dear Service Department,

I brought my car in September to have a turn signal flasher put in my 2000 Avalon because my turn signals and hazard flasher were not working. I checked the fuses and bulbs and they looked good. I did this upon inspection from an auto mechanic and looking at the internet for this kind of a problem. The service manager Bruce said this would cost $50.00 and I said go ahead and do this. I came back about 3 hours latter and Bruce said it was not my flasher relay but that the turn signal switch was bad. Bruce said it would cost $652.00 to replace the turn signal switch. I recently bought a turn signal switch from another Toyota dealer an put it on. (It took me know more than 15 minuits to install the switch) I still had the same problem after installation ( the turn signal and hazard flasher not working but headlights OK.) I called Bruce the service manager on the phone and asked if the mechanic really did replace the relay and he said that the mechanic did. I found out yesterday April 2 that your parts department had sold me the wrong relay. My question is how can your mechanic replace the relay if it was the wrong one. Yesterday I took my car to Bill’s Tire and Auto Care on Glendale Milford road and my car is fixed. They replaced the relay with the right relay which was $13.99 and labor of $140.00. Your service manager who said he replaced the relay but did not and also the mechanic said the problem was the switch, which it was not. I am asking to be compensated for the relay which you sold me the wrong one , the labor to install the relay that you never did and the switch that I did not need. I have all the receipts and old parts

Relay……..$69.48 Labor……..$50.00 Switch…….$62.89

Total………182.57

Sincerely,
