The contact owns a 2000 Toyota Avalon. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel and suddenly the engine stalled. The vehicle failed to restart after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where they informed the contact that the engine would need to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage and VIN were unavailable.
