My 2006 avalon was driving very erratically. it would develop severe hesitation at times over rev and not go past 45 mph even floored. I went round and round with toyota until I ended up in arbitration... "unable to to duplicate". very poor after care.. they finally sent a field service rep to test drive with me... he could duplicate the problem.. angle and pressure on the accelerator... well glory be i found and fixed the problem. I am used to driving with the tip of my foot on the pedal. I played with the pedal and found that the pedal is flexible plastic. my foot would slip down and bend the pedal the harder i would push the more confused the drive by wire was getting. I experimented and placed the base of my heel at the bottom of the pedal and changed the angle of my foot so greater preasure was applied to the top of the pedal.. presto chango the problem went away please pass the word.. after 3 months of hell
