My 2007 Toyota Avalon Limited has very poor radio reception compared to my former 2001 Toyota Camry LE (which I turned in for the Avalon). Talks with service dept reveal that the new antenna design in the rear windows seem to have reduced the quality of reception compared to the former design in the windshield (like my former Camry). Unfortunately, I still have the current problem of radio station signals which continue to fade in and out. FM is bad and AM is not much better. Even more unfortunate is my understanding that this problem may be plaguing more than just the Avalon but also the Camry and others as well.
One suggestion was to have the rear window replaced to see if the new antenna in the replacement would work better - but again - this is no guarantee. I am afraid I will be facing another mess with out achieving the solution. Has anybody else had these issues and were you able to resolve them thru Toyota or thru aftermarket means? Please share your successes with me!
