My 2007 Toyota Avalon Limited rear windshield defroster lacks the power to get the job done compared to my previously owned 2001 Toyota Camry LE (which I turned in for the Avalon).
Fact: If I turned on the rear defroster in my Camry, the rear window would be clear by the time I was out of my development. Now, with the 2007 Avalon, the rear window is still partly fogged by the time I arrive to work. If I want to see clearly out my rear window, I have to wipe down the glass (inside and out) before I leave for work every morning. The bigger concern and question is what will I have to deal with once snow and ice arrive on the scene? Especially since the car is not "garaged".
Talks with the Toyota Service Dept reveal that this seems to be a common complaint among owners of this car. They have set up an appointment for me to meet with their Toyota Rep who comes into the Dealership on a monthly basis to discuss how this can be resolved. I will keep you posted...
