Went to wash the car, noticed oil leaking from under the car. Quickly got the car to the station near my house

had it checked and was told by the Master mechanic that the OIL HOSE was spraying oil. Team Toyota stated

that this hose had been changed under Recall in 2010. I find it strange that the recall hose replacement is leaking. I believe the replacement hose is defective also my car has less than 50,000 miles on it. Too many recalls. I have a dash that is yet to be changed and something else, can't say what because the paperwork is in the car and the car is at the shop for another replacement of the same hose.

Am not sure where to begin. It first started with an annoying tire pressure light that will not go away then a check engine light that comes on every two week with something new. We have done everything to that care Name it..We just completed a tune up with new spark plugs, Ignition coils, Wheel bearing ...Name it

I was travelling to work after droping the kids off at school, just few blocks from my work I smelled something burning. Got to work, parked, came out the car to see oil leaking. I had car towed to Toyota delarship. Call Toyota to let them know what was happening and if there was a recall on this, The lady told me that the oil hose on my car was changed in Feb of 2012 mind you this is March now and since the one year warranty has expired, I am responsible for the cost.

The delearship called to tell me I will be needing a new engine because there a hole on the valve cover and it leaked oil all over the engine.

I went from driving to work to needing a new engine($6,000-8,000 quote depending on the engine). I have not had time to deal with this issue, still renting. I have two toddlers and a husband who is deployed to war. How am I suppose to deal?

Like most of the complaints about this problem mine is very much the same on a 2007 Avalon. Sudden oil dump from engine. This obviously happened in one day, a Wednesday, that my wife took the car out for the first time that week. She hadn't driven it since the previous Saturday when I mowed the lawn. Since she was out the garage floor was plainly visible and there wasn't a drop of oil there. She went to the dentist and then came back home before leaving again. We work at the same place so she drove to work. At the end of our day I was following her while she was driving the Avalon. She had to pull over so I did too. She said something is wrong with the car. She heard some engine pecking noises and saw the oil light flicker. I checked the oil and there was none. She took our other car, a RAV4, and went to get some oil. I refilled the engine and started the car. The engine sounded fine. I followed her but could see the engine was dropping oil. In about 3 miles I had her pull over since the block was now burning the leaking oil and I could see the smoke. We had the car towed to the dealer. When we finally got home that night I saw the oil on the garage floor. It was repaired the next day but at no cost but it had been repaired a year ago according to their records. They must have used the rubber hose again. The guy at the dealer, that we know and have done business with for the four years we've owned the car, said that it would never happen again and that the engine wasn't damaged. What to believe? Do we take it on a long trip again or just drive it around town? -- which isn't exactly where you get the best mileage on this car.

This oil leak falls under the heading "burst oil line". Toyota fixed it for free as it is now a recall item. They also sent me a card giving me a number to call if I had already paid for this repair myself, presumably to reimburse me, so those of you who have done so should contact Toyota. If you have a Toyota with this rubber oil line GET IT FIXED BEFORE IT BURSTS.

I just got off the freeway after 26 miles and it left a trail of oil down the street and into my garage. Luckily my engine wasn't ruined. They will replace cheap, rubber, defective, cost saving oil line with metal one that the earlier cars came with. You see, like most car companies, Toyota tries to spend less money building their cars but charges us the same price, hoping that it doesn't blow up in their faces.

I'm through with Toyota. This was my 3nd Avalon.

I purchased my 2007 Avalon 3 years new off lot and have since paid for it in full. My first noticeable problem was tire pressure light that refuses to go off. I have had to drive with this symbol for the past 2 months even after replacing the tires. I took it to the Toyota Dealership. One of the mechanics told me to put a piece of tape on it because he did not know what was wrong? I continued to deal with that because I considered it minor until I encounter the problem with the lost of all of the oil from the vehicle without warning. I was traveling to work when the check oil light appeared. When I reached my destination there was not a drop of oil left on the dip stick.Once parked I saw where the oil was gushing out. I had to have my vehicle towed. It could have been disastrous! Why wasn't I contacted about the recall. Why is Toyota waiting for people to crash and or die before taking action? I would like to do away with this vehicle but what happens to my investment? Toyota needs to take more responsibility for its lack of action.
