problem #1

Avalon LE 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,000 miles

This apparently is common for this year Avalon especially and Toyota has had to redesign the timing gear. My problem is that the new timing ($1,800.00) gear will not fit with other components so all relative components must be changed too which costs an additional ($2,500.00). A major repair at only 42000 was devastating financially and there was NO warning or recall. In my opinion Toyota s are not as the ones of old since they are being built here in the USA and if you buy an extended warranty make sure it comes from the car company and not a fly by night one.
