AFTER RECALL FOR BRAKE OVERRIDE IN MARCH 2010 WHEN CAR HAD ONLY 8,000 MILES ON IT, THE CAR CAME BACK SHAKING LIKE WE WERE IN AN EARTHQUAKE. THE DEALER TOOK IT BACK TWICE, BUT IT HAS NEVER OPERATED THE SAME. TOYOTA SAYS THE SUBSEQUENT IDLING ROUGHNESS THAT WASN'T PRESENT WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR (HAD 75 MILES ON IT) AND THE VALVE CLATTER OR PISTON POP WHICH DIDN'T APPEAR UNTIL JANUARY 2011, ARE "NORMAL." WE HAVE HAD GO-AROUNDS WITH TOYOTA EIGHT TIMES. THE REGIONAL REP NEVER SAW THE CAR OR TALKED WITH ME. TOYOTA ULTIMATELY SENT A MECHANIC WHO FELT THE VIBRATIONS AND HEARD THE CLATTER. I WROTE BOTH THE CEOS OF TOYOTA OF AMERICAN AND WORLD-WIDE TOYOTA TO NO AVAIL. ALL TOYOTA DID WAS TO TRY TO "BRIBE" ME WITH A PLATINUM ENTENDED WARRANTY WHICH IT LATER SAID THAT MY ACCEPTANCE INDICATED THE MATTER WAS SETTLED. LATEST GO-AROUND WITH TOYOTA "DISSERVICE" WAS THIS PAST JANUARY. NOW THEY SAY THEY DON'T HEAR OR FEEL ANYTHING. THE CAR PRESENTLY HAVE A TAD OVER 40,000 MILES ON IT. I'LL NEVER BUY ANOTHER TOYOTA PRODUCT AGAIN, AND THIS IS AFTER WE HAVE HAD TWO LEXUSES AND AN AVALON AND HAVE BEEN AVID TOYOTA CUSTOMERS.
