The contact stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph when another cut in front of them and in order to avoid hitting the other vehicle the contact veered to the left, the contact ended up crashing into a side barrier on the side of the road. The contact stated that the vehicle was still difficult to steer and there was a rumbling coming from underneath the vehicle whenever driving or braking the vehicle. A third party company sent by the manufacturer came to evaluate the vehicle and they were not able to determine why the air bags did not deploy and the claim was declined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 9,300.
