Avalon Hybrid Limited 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 38,000 miles

Car starting having a squeaking noise in the front end when placing the car in reverse or drive and releasing the brake pedal. This happens for a short period of time. It will also happen during a fairly hard brake but not on normal braking. Brought it into dealer. Brakes were checked, diagnostics run and no issues were found. Sent this information to Toyota and they contacted me stating they would have a traveling service tech go to my dealer to see if he could suggest anything. The manager at my Toyota dealer talked to the tech but I did not see the person. I brought the car in again and did a test drive with a mechanic and the manager of the service department who had talked to the traveling service person. He stated that because the hybrid brake system are designed differently there is an accumulator that is used for the fluid. When the fluid is low this noise can develop. I asked why now? No real answer. I did see that there was a number of ABS actuator problems on other Toyota vehicles that sound very similar to my car, just with more miles on them. I mentioned the ABS system to them but stated that would not be it. I checked and there are no recalls on the 2015 Avalon hybrid except for an option my car does not have. Any suggestions on how to get Toyota to replace the actuator now, as my vehicle has an extended warranty on it for 2 more years, would be great.
