C-HR

  • CVT transmission
  • 141,111 miles

My CHR started making a slight noise, but the noise got really bad today. All my engine lights went on, as the car was going into a complete failure mode. Promptly took it to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed it as an internal transmission problem and quoted me 14.5K to fix.

The car has 141k miles, 2018. It has only been serviced at the dealer.

C-HR

  • CVT transmission
  • 102,038 miles

Bought the car used at 70 thousand something miles. Transmission failure at 102,038 miles with routine maintenace & no warning other than whirling noise. Naturally, and like so many others, this occurred just a little over 2,000 miles past extended warranty. Dealership said "well it's over 100,000 miles so it happens". Absolutely ludacris, never had a transmission fail until this car. This is a WELL known issue. Dealership attempted to gaslight me & quoted a repair cost of almost $12,000. You cannot be serious. A quote for a repair that is probably more than the car is worth? Dealership encouraged me to trade it in, so the problem simply continues.
