Toyota really cut corners on the interior of the Corolla & Camry in the late 1990s.
Its amazing how much light weight plastic was used link moving parts in windows and door mechanisms. Its obvious Toyota was not thinking of the longevity or reliability of the interior when they designed these cars. I have had to replace two door handles because the plastic link snapped. I have also repaired a window & door lock that had other plastic pieces break. I was able to repair the window by fastening a metal link. Why cant Toyota build the interior of the car like they build the engine?

Had the same issue! I used Gorilla Glue to put the door handle back together.
