Seems like the 98 Camrys came out with a bad paint job. They should've been recalled. My Camry's hood has peeled pretty bad. If anyone knows if they were in fact recalled, please let me know. Thanks

I really love my toyotas, (we have 3) but the hood of the 98 camry has buckling, peeling paint & was beginning to rust. my daughter drives it to school & when I lifted the hood it was awful! I haven't had an estimate yet, but I'm thinking it will be cheaper to replace the hood than trying to fix the decaying mess. By the way mine is white, so maybe its just the 98's have a bad paint job

I was told that something, maybe acid rain, had gotten on the car. However, I have looked at a number of BLACK 98 Camrys and they all seem to have the same problem. I think that there is a paint problem on the black Camry that Toyota does not want to address. I want to know if other owners of 98 BLACK Camrys have had this or a similar problem.
