problem #1

Camry LX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 117,000 miles

While trying to park, car accelerated in drive. Could not stop using foot brake. Could not move gears from drive to neutral. Stopped up against a snow bank. Shut car off. Pumped brake, was fine. No indication of any problem. Turned car on, with foot on brake put car in reverse, and it accelerated in reverse. Again not able to stop with the brake or move into neutral or park. Stopped when I hit a van parked behind me.

Heard numerous complaints of this happening in various models and years of Toyotas. Car towed to dealership. Dealership called Toyota who was to send an engineer to look at it. Filed formal complaints with NHTSA in DC and Toyota Corporation. Looking for resolution. Anyone else have this problem. How was it resolved?

I am afraid of driving this car or letting anyone else drive it. What else can I do to make myself heard? RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT NOT MY VIN# Ideas? Suggestions?
