Camry LX 4 cyl

There is obviously a problem with the exterior door handles on the 2001 Camry. I have seen a lot of missing door handles on Camrys over the years, this cannot just be a coincidence. Toyota should be made responsible for correcting this problem which is a engineer or material issue, not a user issue.

Camry LS 2.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

This is a minor gripe, for sure, but when even a tiny bit of ice gets into the doors, the handles come apart with a relatively light pull. They are almost paper thin at the point where they break. It's not really expensive to buy a replacement part, but the job is difficult enough to be very frustrating, and expensive if paying for it.

This has been a wonderful car for 13 years, and other than being lousy in the snow and the weak door handles, I am very pleased with it, and sorry that later Camrys are so butt ugly.
