We posted a message on here last May, 2003, regarding our 2002 SE-V6 Toyota Camry and the problems we were experiencing. We have had nothing but problems since we purchased this vehicle in October, 2001! We previously stated in our message on this board about the stinch of the catalytic converters in our vehicle and how our local Toyota dealer refused to replace the second converter? (the first one of two they replaced did not solve the problem!) We just found out today that this year in May, 2004, Toyota issued a technical service bulletin (we weren't aware of this) that they would replace any 2002 SE V-6 models that have this stinch smell! We were also experiencing yet another problem with the brakes (again!!.. first time, June, 2003!) we asked the dealer to check on any recall regarding the brakes. When they checked for service bulletins on brakes, there was one sent to them by Toyota that said the 2002 SE V-6 Camry may experience warping of rotors. We were never sent any information as to this problem and could not believe that we were having the brakes replaced for the second time in ONEYEAR! By the way, this is a garage kept car that has only been used for vacation trips and only has 23,000 miles on it, most of which are highway miles. Our local Toyota dealer told us today that we would have to be pay for the cost of the alignment, but after we made a call to the Toyota Corporate Hdqrts. in Torrence, CA. they rethought this! NO WAY were we paying for something covered under warranty and defective! Also, when we asked why we weren't notified of something that we thought was a safety issue, we were told that Toyota doesn't think it is that! Can you believe this? How many folks owning Toyotas are driving around with defective brakes and not knowing that they possibly have a problem with them, and Toyota doesn't think it is deserving of letting their customers know? Just thought you should be aware! BE WISE AND BEWARE!
