Camry LE

  • Automatic transmission
  • 154,000 miles

Transmission needs replaced according to two mechanics, who quote $4,100 for new and $2,500 for installing a used transmission. Car still runs but struggles to shift and wants to stay in 3rd. Also makes a bad buzzing noise. The fix with a new transmission is close to the value of the car at this point.

Camry LXE 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 91,500 miles

She has been a good car. I bought her in 2004 and carefully researched before purchasing. At the time, the '02 Camry had a great track record. It has been having difficulty shifting into reverse & rough forward shifting. The transmission mechanic said the transmissions for the Camry has been a problem. Who would have known when she was only two?
