Driver seat belts releases on its own especiall while driving. I stop and push metal clasp back into position, sometimes with force to make sure it is engaged. Sometimes it stays in place, sometimes not. I also check to make sure nothing is in the way of metal clasp before pushing it into the slot. I never know when it will pop back again undtil the light on the dashboard starts to flash. This has been going on for about 2 months.

The seat belt comes unfastened when driving down the street. This happens several times a week. You can pull and pull on the belt and it remains locked, but while traveling on the road, especially if one hits a bump, the belt unlatches and the light comes on and buzzer sounds. Went to junk yard to get a different latch and learned that their neighbor's 2003 Toyota Camry does the same thing. This needs to be investigated and fixed. Found same complaint on several complaint boards.

The contact owns a 2003 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the front passenger seat belt buckles failed and prevented the seat belt from properly securing the passenger in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that both the passenger and drivers seat belt buckle needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 345,754. The current mileage was 345,800.
