I've never had a problem like this before. It snuck up on me. I thought that one of my family members has spilled a bottle of water on the floor and all I had to do was to mop it up.

That didn't work and the floor keep on getting wet. So I surmised that the problem may have been part of the AC. I took it to my mechanic since the car is out of warranty. He was reluctant to take the problem because I wanted the floors dried.

He eventually agreed to do the job but he had to remove my electric seats and the carpets. Under the carpet is a pad that damps out road noise. That was like a sponge.

When I got the car back he told me that he couldn't get all of the water out and that I would have to let the sun and fresh air do the rest.

I went home and got a wet vac and spent 3 hours sucking up about 1/2 of a gallon of water that was still remaining in the carpet.

The car now has a lingering oder that is quite annoying.
