Camry 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 19,000 miles
The retaining nut for the alternator pulley came off the shaft causing the pulley to wobble which led to the loss of the serpentine belt; without the belt I lost power steering, the battery began to run low and the engine started to overheat. Fortunately I was 2 miles from home and was able to make it there w/O any damage to the vehicle. The vehicle was still under warranty, ~19,000 miles on the odometer, and was repaired by the dealer. The belt and the alternator assembly were replaced.
