HAD TO GET A NEW THROTTLE BODY FOR MY 2005 TOYOTA (CAMRY SE) COST $1,170.00. NO ACCELERATION ONLY CAN DRIVE AT 5 MILES A HR. WHAT IF I HAD BEEN ON THE HWY WHEN THIS HAPPENED.THE CAR ONLY HAS 73,000 MILE.

I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS CAR THERE HAVE BEEN LOTS OF COMPLAINTS OF DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THE NEW THROTTLE BODY DOES NOT COME WITH A NEW HOSE.THE HOSE WAS REMOVED AND NOT USED ON A NEW THROTTLE BODY. CALLED TOYOTA CORP AND THEY DID NOT NO WHAT I WAS TAKING ABOUT.SO GO FIGURE WHO'S LYING TO ME..

I had to pay to replace the throttle on my Toyota Camry which was a complete pain because of the cost but I dealt with it because of course my warranty had expired but I really became frustrated when I had to replace it for a second time with 2 years and it was tough cookie for me so know I am waiting to see how long this one lasts. By the way the throttle was replaced by Toyota a brand new part which only had a year warranty on it I would suggest going to a mechanic shop because going to a buying Toyota new parts does not give you any more protection then the regular mom and pop mechanic shop plus you save a grip.

My throttle on my Toyota Camry 2005 went out for the second time after bringing it to Toyota to have it replaced with a brand new part that was only covered for a year and of course it broke after that time period. I am rather confused of how the same part can break continuously and there is nothing that can be done. This time I did not bring it to a Toyota dealership therefore I saved $400 bucks plus the warrantly is still the same. I do not recommend bringing your car to the dealership because they do not back their own new auto parts and service.
