Camry LE 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 211,000 miles

I have properly maintained my car since I purchased it 2 years ago. Until this past Monday I haven't had any problems with excessive oil consumption. I work in the home health field and get my oil checked and changed every three to four weeks as well getting all fluids and tires checked. I need help. I cannot afford to replace the engine in my car. I am very upset about this problem with my Camry. Up until now this has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. I was told Toyota was supposed to be the best cars. I haven't even paid the car off yet. This is not an expense I can handle. What do I do?

Camry 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 250,000 miles

My car started consuming oil around 225-250,000 miles. It now has 297,000 miles on it, but it uses 4 quarts of oil in 2200 miles. I have to constantly add oil to my vehicle. Other than that it has been a great car and has NEVER left me on the side of the road.

Camry

  • Automatic transmission
  • 248,000 miles

Everytime I get my usual oil change when it is due I am always told they had to add extra. This past weekend without a warning my car just stopped in the middle of the freeway (luckily I did not have my kids). when I pulled over a highway patrol officer helped me take a look at my car. Right away the officer checked the oil and the oil stick was DRY there was not a drop. My oil change was not due for another two months.

Camry XLE V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 101,333 miles

This vehicle has slowly been consuming more and more oil as the years have gone by. Originally I felt that a small oil consumption was normal. Now the vehicle eats oil like it's gasoline. I just recently looked up excessive oil consumption (didn't previously because the vehicle was outside of any factor warranty). Come to find out that they issued a TSB back in August of 2011 stating this EXACT problem was known to Toyota. Only problem was this was just told internally to Toyota. Toyota apparently issued a Warranty Enhancement Program for select vehicles. I was never made aware of this Warranty Program and am certain that my vehicle should be under this. It is specifically listed on the TSB-0094-11 when it states "some 2006-2011 model year vehicles equipped with the 2AZ-FE engine". I feel taken advantage of and no longer trust Toyota like I did in the past. I have been a lifelong toyota owner but will no longer purchase if they don't fix this KNOWN problem.

Camry Altise 2.4L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,923 miles

I bought this car 1year ago (08.2014) and I realized the car engine oil is consuming very quickly. I found the problem was caused by the engine default..but the mechanical insurance company and Toyota in NZ said that's the normal operation.... what do I have to do ?

I really want to be covered in insurance... please let me know.
