I bought my 2006 Camry le back in March, 2009 and it was driving okay but up till now I have noticed that every other time when I'm driving and come to a stop on a red light and when the light turns green I step on the gas pedal and it seems like its doesn't want to go it just goes slow and the more I step on the gas pedal it makes some noise and later it picks up on the speed I really hope that you can understand what I am trying to say. I am worry that something might go wrong especially when hearing all about the recalls lately. I call the dealer where I had bought the car to ask if my car, make and model was part of the recalls but the receptionist who answered the phone said no. But I am still worried that something might go wrong.....I don't know nothing or anything about cars......please advice on what I should do?....thanks

The consumer applied the brake, but the vehicle did not respond. The consumer was able to reach down and pull the floor mat up and finally the vehicle slowed down.,

The last time, the consumer almost crashed into a concrete wall while backing down a hill towards a very busy intersection. In May 2007, my I was driving my 2006 Toyota Camry when it suddenly accelerated to an uncontrollable speed, the steering kept veering to the left and the brakes did not stop the car. The car went down about 30 feet into a gully before slamming into a cement column. The car was totally destroyed and I sustained injuries. In a series of correspondence Toyota motor sales denied any defect in the car and made no attempt to pay damages. I had previously taken the car to the dealers for brakes adjustment and I complained of a clumsiness when accelerating; the dealer adjusted the brakes but said that the noise and clumsiness was the normal acceleration for the throttle for the V6 engine. Accelerator stuck on 2006 Toyota Camry. Toyota told me it had to be the electronics and not the throttle assembly. I was so afraid I had the throttle assempbly replaced anyway at my own expense. This was all before the recent publicity. I have supporting documents for your review. Toyota never told me about the history of issuess nor offered to pay for this. Updated 02/24/10

The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Camry. The consumer was at a complete stop, she tapped the accelerator to move ahead and then the accelerator became stuck. Consequently, she rear-ended another vehicle. The bumper and the hood of the vehicle were damaged. The dealer stated that since the insurance company provided her with assistance, they would only document the failure. The insurance company could not identify the cause of the failure.
