2006 Camry problem 1: -- symptom: When filling up the tank and setting the gas pump handle to automatically fill the tank, (I.e., setting the switch on the handle), cannot be done (the pump switch pops). (this problem repeated at multiple different stations over several consecutive fill-ups.) after a diagnostic, the dealer said the canister needs to be replaced. Another gas station attendant said this was a common problem on many late model Camry (his station is down the block from a dealer so he says he has seen a few of these), caused when the tank is overfilled and flooding gas into the canister, ruining it, and ultimately causing the fill-up problems described above. Its scheduled to be fixed tomorrow, but wondering if this is a design/product defect, that will reoccur in the future (esp after the warranty ends.) please do not advise to not overfill the tank, for 2 reasons: 1) I live in NJ, where only station attendants are legally allowed to fill the tank, so I have little/no control over it. 2) this should not ever be a problem, in general, even if the tank is overfilled and gas gushes onto the ground. Problem 2: windshield constantly fogs up; need to use defroster in all types of weather, esp raining. I had this problem on my 84 corolla; big pain. Problem 3: somewhat jerky ride, noticed when coasting to a stop, at approx 5-15 mph, then the traffic light turns green, and start to press the gas, the car jerks and lunges; seems to me that its trying to find the right gear, then it does, and this happens. Thought the problem was me, but other drivers of my car noticed the same thing. Dealer said that the car is programmed to adjust to the driver's habits (computers!!), and may be confused when drivers change, exhibiting this problem.
