Camry LE 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,700 miles

Just bought this used '06 Toyota Camry for my daughter to commute to college. Now I'm worried that she'll not make it. What is it that Toyota has so many complaints with this "steering clunking" and noises behind the steering column along with TOTAL loss of steering ability and they won't fix it or even acknowledge there is a problem?!?!?!? I took it to my local mechanic and they did an inspection of the car saying that this model and year are notorious for this issue. Well, I guess I should have done my homework. I had a Camry back in the "90's and no problems. I mean, come on! No one is perfect but if there is a pattern and its a SAFETY issue they shouldn't take chances. Man! I hate shelling out hard earned money but get no quality customer service in return. Definetly NOT going to recommend or buy another Camry. They just lost my business!!!!

Camry CE 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 43,000 miles

It sounds as if something mechanical in or near the steering wheel or mechanism is not connected properly or is a little loose. Quite annoying, and particularly worrying as no-one can find the problem
