The area on the front part of the dashboard (next to the windshield) has become sticky and shiny. It is tacky to the touch and easily gouges. It creates a glare for the driver that can impair his ability to drive. We have tried washing the area and it does not improve the condition! it is dangerous and unsightly!

I purchased my Camry used in August 2010 and a couple of months after owning the car, the driver side sunvisor had to be removed because it flopped down and would not stay up when put up. In July 2012, the exact same identical thing happened with the passenger side and it's now hanging down and will not go back up and stay. I can feel in the seem that it's broken but cannot fix it. Everyone, including myself that gets in the passenger side hits their heads on it since it's hanging down. It's definitely a safety issue because of blocking the views especially with the driver side...that's why we removed it completely. I contacted Toyota customer service sometime ago and all they said was that there was no recall on the items. Ridiculous! I've priced the visors thru the dealership I bought the car and the price was around $100. Toyota needs to replace them, I feel!

Camry 6-cyl

The drivers side sun visor does not stay in "up" position. It will drop down while driving and can be dangerous. I finally had to remove the visor completely from the car, which causes another driving hazard during periods of bright sun light (even with sun glasses on). Several people have reported the same problem on the Toyota owners website. Should be recalled. Dealer wants $200 to repair.

Driver's side sun visor broke for no apparent reason. Defective part. I used to own a 1997 Toyota Camry and drove over 200,000 miles and the sun visor was fine. I was searching on the web to find a replacement part but instead found a website that other people have posted having same problem with this defective part. www.toyotanation.com/forum/104-5th-6th-generation-2002-2006-2007-2011/343284-2007-Camry-sun-visor-problem-2.html additionally, I received a letter from Toyota regarding a recall about the accelerator problem and tried to set up an appointment through an email with courtesy Toyota service center and they did not respond to my inquiry nor willing to set up an appointment to cure the recall issue. Driver side visor replaced last year (2011) due to same issue: Visor directly impacted driver's view. Sun visor on passenger side now drooping after shifting position to put sun shade in place. Exact same problem. Droop getting worse; visor does not stay in position and impedes driver's peripheral view.

Camry 4-cyl

The driver's side sun visor broke. The arm that goes into the sun visor came out of the sun visor. It seems that it broke the plastic inside the visor that holds it in place. This caused the visor to keep falling and not stay in place. It had a good chance of creating a hazard so I completely removed the visor. The tab on the bar that allows the visor to snap into place has become very stiff to where it is very difficult to rotate around. The stiffness of the arm seems to be what probably broke the plastic.

Sun visor was fine, and not experiencing any problems. While driving in moderate traffic the sun visor just flopped down obscuring my vision. It would not stay back up. I had to hold it up with one hand and drive with the other until I got home. It is now taped onto my sunroof with duct tape. Not good at all!
