The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. While traveling 40 mph, the contact attempted to brake and the anti-lock brake system indicator illuminated. The vehicle slid until it finally stopped. There was no crash. The vehicle was driven carefully back to the contact's home. An independent mechanic confirmed that the failure was due to the anti-lock brake actuator. Mckinnon Toyota (235 price dr, clanton, al 35046, (205) 755-3430) requested that the contact bring in the vehicle for diagnostic testing at her expense. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer provided a case number and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 145,500. The VIN was invalid.

I have a 2007 Toyota Camry hybrid with 132,000 miles. My first experience with the vsc system warning lights happened at 96,000 miles. The dealer stayed I had a leak in the brake actuator and charged me $150 to diagnose, and $2600 to repair, I declined the repair and took it to a shop near me. They repaired the problem for $1000 and it lasted about two years, and ow it's back. I have soft brakes, noise coming from the brake pump and a constant warning bell while driving.

Camry

  • 103,000 miles
2007 Toyota Camry hybrid brake actuator failure. Toyota enhanced warranty extended the manufacturing defect for both time and mileage. The time frame has expired but the mileage allotment was not even close to end (only 103,000 miles on car). This defect should have been a recall since this is a common issue to numerous Toyota Camry's. they issued the enhanced warranty to reduce the financial burden of a recall and limit the number of complaints by only assisting owners who experienced this brake failure during their time frame. I am a senior who only drives the car to the grocery store. When returning from shopping, all the brake and anti skid lights lit up and we took the car straight home. We then took car to dealership the next day. I am being penalized because I am a senior who does not use their car excessively. The enhanced warranty time frame has expired, but the mileage allotment was not even close. This is a manufacturing defect and the car should have been recalled years ago.

My 2007 Toyota Camry SE V6 brakes failed to deploy. On my way home from work, I pressed the brake pedal to stop at a red light, no brakes! I pumped the brakes and all I heard was hissing air sound. I believe it is the brake booster from the numerous complaints describing the same issue. I had no warning lights of any kind. This could have been a life ending event. Toyota needs to correct this issue. Where is the recall?

ABS, speedometer, tachometer, RPM and A/C jumps on and off all over the place. I took it to a Toyota dealer, could not find what was the problem but they assumed it may be the ABS module or some other modules may not be talking to each other. I have researched on line Toyota Camry forums and and found they are lots of Toyota Camry owners with the same issues. This is a very safety issue because im not able to see at the speed my car is going when driving it because tachometer gauges among the others gauges working intermittent (on and off) I request for Toyota to place a recall for all Toyota Camry having this mayor safety electronics problems. I would not mind paying for repair if Toyota dealer knew what the problem was but they don't know and if the repair did not exceed ocer thousands of dollars for something that the manufacture has failed to addressed and fix. Thank you.
