ABS light came on, speedometer. Odometer, and A/C stopped working. Problem continues intermittently. Internet research indicates that this is a widely known problem with this year model and repairs are extremely expensive. Seeking repair through recall. This is a safety issue. Please advise if recall has been or will be initiated. Thank you.

I was driving the Camry when I reached a complete stop my check engine light came on, didn't really notice any change, two days later I notice gas consumption has increased. I took the Camry into dealer, dealer diagnosed the check engine to be a faulty O2 sensor. Replaced O2 sensor and drove off to pick up my kids from school, as we are driving home, I came to a traffic light, I stopped and check engine light and ABS light came on idle was disrupted briefly. I proceeded and when trying to stop car the brake pedal had become very tight to were I had to stomp on brakes with all my might to get car to stop. Drop kids off at home waited 15 minutes and started vehicle, ABS light was off but check engine remained on, brake pedal was almost back to normal. I drove car to dealer again, the dealer said it is a faulty brake booster which is allowing too much air into system which in return signals for more fuel to be pumped to compensate vacuum leak. Brake booster not covered under extended warranty, and very costly $1,363.16 parts, labor and taxes, not counting the 4 day rental. This concerns me because I believe this to be a safety issue, if it were my wife driving the Camry with my kids she would not be able to stop the vehicle without any warning. Toyota needs to make this a safety recall before something tragic happens. I looked at Toyota forums and it seems I'm not alone, brake booster for several other Toyota models have gone bad, after 100,000 miles some at 70,000. 2007 Toyota Camry seems like a horrible guinea pig car.

I was driving down a hill about 5mph because it was snowing and there were cars infront of me. I was slowly pressing the brake and then the brake pedal got stuck and I couldn't control the brake, the wheels had locked to and I kept on sliding and I went head on in an SUV. Car is totaled and I sustained neck, back, knee, and shoulder injuries. And also I don't know if there was a fire but after the airbags deployed there was a lot of smoke coming from everywhere.

Started the car and noticed the ABS and parking brake light were on. Tachometer was jumping between 0 and 1000rpm. Air conditioner wasn't working. Drove the car a bit with no change except the tachometer jumping a bit higher than 1 and dropping back to 0. speedometer wouldn't move at all. After a bit more driving, the ABS and parking brake lights turned off and the gauges resumed normal operation. Air conditioner also started working. Since this initial problem, the gauges and lights have been operating with the same inconsistency (jumping tachometer, speedometer sitting at 0, ABS and parking brake lights on).

First experienced pulsing brakes when slowing on highway. At approx. 12,000 miles returned to dealer had rotors resurfaced. Same thing happened at 25,000 miles and just about every 15,000 miles. Had rotors and pads replaced at approx. 36,000 miles, and resurfaced again at approx. 60,000. Now have 78, 000 miles and have to have third set of rotors. This will be the fifth brake repair in 78,000 miles, either pads, resurfacing, or rotors. Yes, Toyota has a Camry brake problem.

I just got my 2007 Camry hybrid back after the "check vsc system" warning light came on this past week. I called my Toyota dealer to have it checked out while I had an oil change and tire rotation done as well as another recall dealing with, I believe, was a brake reservoir issue. Earlier in the week I called Toyota corporate to ask them about this warning I got and they asked about the numerous warning lights that came on when this happened on my instrument panel. And recommended I get it checked out. I left the vehicle the next day and later in the day they came back and told me the items were done, what the exception of the vsc system warning light. They said that my actuator was faulty. They said that they had called Toyota about it and were awaiting a call back from them. They called me later in the day and said that Toyota was willing to do the repair, free of charge, as a "one time only" deal. I never made a big deal out of this situation, never complaining. Ironically, a warning light dealing with my tire pressure that has never came off is gone as well as those other lights including the (!), ABS, the "skidding car", etc. Among others also, my Camry has over 233,000 miles, no where near a warranty type repair! this must be a problem that Toyota is dealing with, but are keeping it on the "down low" to avoid a recall and another public embarrassment. I am also forwarding this to the ntsb and out local tv station. I am sure this is happening all over the country and hope that no one is adversely affected by this obvious factory defect. Sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I was driving home from work and as I approached the stop sign that is at a slight rise in the road; I stepped on the brakes and they were very hard going down and I hear air coming out of somewhere. My car would not stop. I had to pump the brakes several times and I finally stopped just as I steered the car to the side of the road next to the stop sign. I just missed a car coming from the South on the road I was turning on. I continued my drive home "white knuckling" it all the way. The brakes did the same thing at the other stop signs and the two turns I had to make to get home. I was driving about 5 miles per hour when I pulled into the parking lot of my apartment complex because I was scared to death I was going to hit a child. I have had the car parked since then because I do not have the money to pay to have it repaired yet.

On the above date and time my daughter was driving the above vehicle when she came to a stop and had to depress the brakes. She noticed the vehicle was hard to stop and heard a hissing/air sound coming from the brake pedal area and the driver side air vent. She drove the vehicle home and we drove it to the dealership, they informed us it was the brake booster and the car would be dangerous to drive without that repair. This vehicle only had 80,000 miles on it and regular maintenance.

Here is a problem with my Toyota Camry, 4-door le sedan, 2007. The indicators brake and ABS on the instrument panel started lighting up occasionally after the front brake service on 07-29-14. When it is happening, the temperature gauge, tachometer, and speedometer are moving quickly, up and down and finally to '0' position. My mechanic was not able to fix it and suggested to bring the car to a dealership. I visited Toyota services. Code U0073 was present in their tests. They could not pinpoint a problem and suggested additional tests, but told me they could not guarantee the problem will be resolved. Considering the said above, I decided not to do any more tests. I continue drive my car with the described problem.

The brake and ABS indicator light started to come on intermittently. I checked the brake fluid container and it was extremely low. I added brake fluid. This concerned me because I had my car serviced less than two months and felt they should have noticed that the fluid level was low. The brake and ABS indicator light continued to come on intermittently. I took my car to the dealership; a diagnostic test was performed and I was informed that I needed to replace the brake actuator. Total cost was $2,086.40. Since I've had the brake actuator replaced, I've noticed that the delayed brake response no longer exists.

ABS and brake light came on while driving also my speedometer needle does not move, and RPM gauge starts fluctuating. This occurs intermittently. I took it to the Toyota dealer they told me I have to replace the brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) a total cost of $3,453 to fix. :( my car has only 67,750 miles. I do know the 2007 Camry hybrid is having the same problem and those are being recalled.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. While driving 65 mph, the ABS and emergency warning indicators illuminated. The air conditioner produced hot air, the engine sputtered, and the speed rapidly decreased. The contact had to pull the vehicle over, place it into park and then back into drive in order for it to operate normally. The dealer stated that the ABS actuator had internal failure and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 123,785.

Anti-lock brake system went out in my 2007 Toyota Camry and the Toyota place said the actuator needed to be replaced and it would cost $2100 to fix it. My extended warranty just ran out on my car so they would not cover it. I see that the federal government is investigating the 2007 Camry hybrid for the same reason I am just wondering if my anti-lock brake system is the same braking system that is in those cars.

We were driving and my husband notice that the brakes were not working properly when applied. There was a hissing sound when you apply the brake and it takes a long time for the car to stop. The brake booster is gone. I have noticed that there have been a lot of complains about this sort of thing happening with Toyota Camry. This is dangerous they should recall all Toyota from 2007 on, because someone is going to die. Several people have reported this problem to Toyota only to be told that they have not heard of this problem. They are at fault as this is clearly a manufacturing problem......updated 09-03-14.
