Camry XLE 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 99,000 miles

I know there are many miles on this car but I'm a believer in the Toyota brand, and I believe that they will come forward with a recall due to the amount of reports submitted on leaky struts. Bought this car certified used with about 77,000 miles and just had a mechanic tell me all 4 struts need to be replaced due to leaks. $1,500! Ive driven toyotas with over 400,000 miles and never had a shock, strut or whatever type of suspension issue. Question Toyota. Do struts go out every 30,000-50,000 miles? Based on the reports I've read on this website that appears to be the pattern. If so I need to just get what I can now on a trade because I can't afford to buy new struts every 2 1/2 years. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE BUY TOYOYA AND NOT BUICK! Fix it please.

Camry LE 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 77,671 miles

Last winter ( 2013-2014) was pretty bad and due to the potholes on roads, by spring of 2014 both my front suspensions were done. Rattling sound when passing over speed brakes and when turning.

Dealer deemed unsafe and I ended up with a hefty bill for fixing both front suspensions.

It is not a Toyota only problem but I did not expect both front suspensions to fail within such a short span on what I thought was a reliable car.

Camry LX 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,000 miles

So Toyota Dealer replaces all 4 struts. 2 years, 13,000 miles later both front struts are leaking again. Toyota Dealer will not replace because the struts only have a one year warranty. I am very mad. And the Dealer doesn't know why I do not use him for maintenance...

Camry

  • Automatic transmission
  • 29,530 miles

Took auto to dealers advised that car is no longer in warranty they would have to contact the general office. They did a check and found all 4 struts to be leaking and failed inspection.I am awaiting decision from toyota if they will replace or not. Advised the cost would be over 800.00 if replaced.Car has less than 30K miles and this problem was found out when I took the car in for new tires. The mgr of local dealership checked the car himself and said all 4 needed to be replaced.
