My 2007 Toyota Camry le's driver side sun visor last week start to droop down and would not stay in the up position causing an obstruction of my driving view. I had to turn the visor to the side but that eventually stopped rotating too. It turns out the metal insert had come out and was no longer providing any traction to the visor. Apparently there have been multiple other complaints regarding the same issue with Toyota Camry's around that year's model. It was definitely a safety issue and I had to remove the visor manually for my own safety and found that the parts inside were damaged. My suspicion is that it was poorly constructed since my 1998 Toyota Camry has had no sun visor issues after 13 years of wear and tear. Luckily I noticed problem and did not start driving immediately. I had to use my left arm to hold the sun visor up for my drive back home. This is an extreme safety issue as this can potentially cause significant visibility issues and lead to accidents and deaths. This problem needs to be fixed and recalled by Toyota. Thank you for your time.

The driver side sunvisor is defective in my 2007 Toyota Camry. I was driving one day and the visor suddenly fell from its up-and-locked position. The first time it fell, I pushed the visor back up into its up position and it managed to stay lock, albeit not as sturdy. Subsequently, the inability of the sunvisor to stay up intensified to the point where the thing would not stay up at all. I currently have the sunvisor tied up so it does not obstruct my view while driving. I am currently looking for a replacement for the visor. However, Toyota considers the sunvisor to be a "trim" item and will not replace the visor, even though I am covered under their platinum extended warranty.

I own a 2007 Toyota Camry that a month ago had two visors fell down all of a sudden the springs that hold them snapped off the same day. I was driving when the driver side visor fell down and is being held up by tape. I went in to Toyota and they said sorry it is out of warranty you have to pay $240 for two visors. I am furious as I have been reading to many complaints that this should be considered a safety recall as it obstructs the view of the driver. No one is recalling these as a road hazard. It can cause a serious accident or death if fallen while driving and obstructs view like it did me. I had to hold it up with my fingers while driving. This is a class action law suit waiting to happen. If it were maybe 2-6 I can see doing it yourself but hundreds of complaints I see on line and filed my question is why have you waited so long to find Toyota at fault for faulty parts" how is it that hundreds of these for the 2007 have broke around the same time frame all out of warranty but enough to cause great concern.... this tells me that this is a manufactures defect and should be recalled and fixed at Toyota expense. I am outraged that you have not made this a recall for those who have filed. We trust in you to protect us why have you not done this for us"

While driving my 2007 Toyota Camry, the sun visor slipped down into my line of sight. I had to pull over and try to "fold/ snap" it back in place. Then I noticed that the arm piece, that inserts into the actual sun visor was broken/ cracked. I had to drive holding the sun visor out of my vision with one hand and the other hand on the steering wheel. When I went to the Toyota dealership to order a replacement part, I was told that I was the third person in two weeks with the same complaint on the same model car. The part could not be ordered from the "distribution place" because the sun visors were on back order. I had to remove my hanging sun visor because it was a risk and I have not had it replaced because of the back order. In addition, I am the only driver of my car and to my knowledge there was no incident in which the sun visor was damaged.

I purchased a 2007 Toyota Camry from leith Toyota in raleigh nc, December of 2006. Last week my driver side sun visor fell while driving and almost caused me to wreck. Within a few days the passenger side visor popped out of place and now it will not stay up. I talked with the dealership where I purchased the vehicle and they say that it will cost $200 or more to replace both. I went on the internet and to my surprise I found that many more Toyota customers are having this same issue. The visor clips are clearly defective part(s) in these visors. Even the technician admitted that they have had to repair hundreds of these. I would like to think that I can count on Toyota to fix this problem for me at no charge, but I am getting no where with the dealership. I have been a loyal Toyota customer for the past 20 or more years. This is dangerous and could cause a serious accident or even death.
