The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact was driving 30 mph when the sun visor fell down, impairing the contacts vision of the roadway. The contact stated that the sun visor would not stay in position and at times, would strike the contact in the head. The contact had not called the manufacturer or taken the vehicle the a dealer for repairs. The contact stated that the sun visor failure was a distraction that could cause a crash. The failure mileage was 52,300.

First my driver side visor started to give me problems by making a popping sound which didn't last very long. Eventually the visor completely gave out by falling down in my face and my head while driving. I had a hard time keeping it in position and figuring out how I can use the visor to block the sun. I had to rig the visor with a small bungee cord. I was extremely frustrated and embarrassed by the contraption to hold the visor in place and the function of the visor. After months of frustration and embarrassment I took the visor out. Then soon after of removing the visor on the driver side the same thing started to happen on the passenger visor. Talk about being humiliated and upset with Toyota. As this was not the only problem I was having with the car for ex. Recent recalls, belts replaced, the cost to have my ignition coils replaced then not to soon after the crank shaft sensor. Expensive!!! I contacted my local Toyota dealer to inquire about replacement and cost and possibility of a recall on this after reading how many other 2007 Toyota Camry owners were experiencing the same exact issue. I had no luck with Toyota and have not been able to replace due to costs. I just deal with the sun in my eyes while driving.

Driver side visor has failed. At first it was just a bit loose so I didn't really mind. Now it has fallen almost completely down and will not stay in the up position. Normal wear might have been considered except my car is only 4 yrs old and I rarely use the visor. After some searching I have found this is a huge problem. My visor blocks my view of the front road and also part of my rearview mirror. I contacted the dealer and was quoted $134 parts not including labor. I am not able to afford this expense at the moment so I am going to have to remove the visor. From all of the complaints I have found it should be recalled for being a safety hazard and malfunction of equipment.

I took my car to the Toyota dealership today and they are ordering a new visor. This is going to cost approx. $130 out of pocket, but this is a safety issue and needs to be fixed.

Visibility safety with broken sun visor /driver's side torque pin will not stay up and flops down. Numerous complaints on this particular make/model/year are noted on several web sites. Such as toyotanation.com. Please review this for a recall as dealer costs are very high for a safety issue on a 4-5 year old car.

Recently the driver side sun visor broke. It began to slowly come down and hang in front of me as if I had pulled it down to block the sun. If I push it back up it just comes right back down. I'm not able to push it toward the windshield to get it out of the way either. It just falls back down. This is a real safety hazard considering I cannot see the stoplights when the visor is in the way. Also it caused me to almost rear-end another vehicle. I could remove the visor so that I could see better, but this would cause me to be blinded by the sun. I have looked online and found several sites where others are having the same issue and tried calling the dealerships to get this fixed just as they have. But the dealers want over $100 to fix this issue. Considering this is not an issue with just one or two Toyota Camry owners, Toyota should not allow this issue to go on any longer. To not recall these visors will eventually, if it hasn't already, be the cause of someone's life being lost.

Driver side sun visor fall down on 8/1/2011. It will not stay hold up which will block driver's sight while driving. There is potential and serious possibility that this fall down sun visor may cause a car accident. Ever since last year, numerous of people have reported to Toyota that 2007 to 2011 Camry has this problem. As of today, 8/8/2011, Toyota has yet to reply to this problem or make any recall to the problematic model. In fact, Toyota asks their customers who experience this problem to pay for a replacement sun visor which may have the same problem in the future. This problem was created by either design or manufacture. Not by failure of usage.

The driver side sun visor on my 2007 Toyota Camry breaks and hangs down blocking the view of the road. This is the third time it has broken and is a reoccurring problem. It occurs during normal operating conditions. I have taken it to be repaired three times now at my local Toyota dealership. Each time I have had to pay the $50 deductible for my extended warranty. Each time Toyota has had to order the visor leaving me having to drive the vehicle with the visor blocking my view of the road. This sam problem keeps happening and is an extremely unsafe condition.

From normal use my driver side visor is loose or seems to be open from inside it wont stay up in the normal position and down it is obstructing view. If I move to the side it prevents me from seeing my blind spot on my left. It will not stay in any position where it block/obstruct my view from driving.
