Driving down the interstate at about 65 mph. Sunroof exploded out. Glass went all over my husband, almost causing a wreck as he was in rush hour traffic. Took the Camry to dealership (after taking pics), they commented "oh, we've seen this before." Fixed the sunroof, and charged $1000. This is dangerous. Nothing hit the window, or it would have shattered in instead of exploding out. Maybe something to do with the pressure in the car.

I was driving on the interstate in my new 2007 Camry when the sunroof exploded. Glass poured into the car leaving a sizeable hole. We did not hear or see anything hit the roof before the explosion. The dealer will replace the roof for $1080. I have only had the car two weeks and it seems Toyota should cover the cost. Because it is not a warranty item, the dealer provided a phone number for the Toyota experience center for assistance. They gave me a reference number but told me to contact the dealer.
