The sun visor has broken from it's mount under light usage.

The clip in my driver side sun visor failed while on the interstate, creating a big safety issue. The visor would no longer stay up because a defective clip by the hinge failed. Toyota refuses to repair the visor at no cost, even for vehicles under warranty. This should be a recall on those models.

I have had to replace the passenger side sunvisor 6 months ago, now I have to replace the drivers side sunvisor. They dropped down and will not stay back up. It is causing vision impairment while driving. I eventually had to remove the drivers side sunvisor in order to see while I am driving. Apparently, this is a major problem with several other Toyota Camry owners. It would be great if you could investigate the complaints. Thanks for your time.

Driver side sun visor would not stay up/closed. Had vehicle repaired. Four months later passenger side sun visor had same problem. There is a vision problem with the visor not being able to be closed. Two sun visor problems within months of each other.

At 48000 miles the passenger side visor started free rotation (up and down) and free swing (side to side). Had to remove visor. At 56600 mile the driver side visor had same problem. Visor did not stay in up position plus it started moving side to side. Had to remove visor at 56600 miles to prevent accident. This problem seems to be wide spread with the 2008 Camry.

My driver side sun visor will not stay up. It's blocking my view and when I googled I see tons of Toyota drivers since 2007 complaining about the same issue. From what I'm reading it's only a matter of time before the passenger one goes as well. Unfortunately, the driver actually needs to see the road and this breaking is a huge safety issue.

The driver side sun visor dropped down all of sudden and it wouldn't stay up and makes the driving difficult. I pulled the car over and removed the sun visor then continued my journey. It is a manufacturing failure, so I suggest this issue be looked into seriously and recalled if necessary as it has a potential to be fatal if it happens.

Both (driver and passenger side) sun visors are defective via disconnect and/or inability to move from windshield view (occurring only 3 years after purchase of vehicle new). Also, vehicles electrical plug outlets also do not work, and have not worked since after 3 years of vehicle purchased new. Searching online, it appears that both items are extremely common for 2007-2008 Toyota Camry owners, with at least thousands pleading for a recall as the fixes are extremely expensive, for an item that does not typically break with normal wear and tear, and is obviously not derived from wear and tear.

The driver's side sun visor failed to stay up, impairing the drivers vision at about 38,000 miles, and was replaced for $120. The passenger side sun visor is now failing to stay up at about 50,000 miles, impairing vision. This is a safety hazard and a defect among 2007-2008 Camry's.

Camry 2008 hybrid: Visor slowly dropped down until finally it will not stay up. It obscures visibility and I had to take it down to drive. Now the sun obscures visibility ! when is Toyota going to do something about this hazard ? I can see by the other entries that this is a common problem. The dealership wants $260 just for the part, then labor on top of that. Ridiculous. Before this happened, the floor was wet. The dealership said it was the air conditioner tubes that were blocked. The floor was wet again after the repair. They said it the cause that time was the sun roof tubes being blocked and I would have to pay for that since it was after the warranty. So I did. Had to. Now there is mold under my carpeting. The dealership now wants $1000 to replace the carpet. There were multiple problems with their communication and they were not truthful. I didn't get a customer survey. How convenient for them. This is my first and last Toyota. Going back to Ford.

The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the sun visor would fall down without warning, blocking the view of the driver. Neither the dealer nor manufacturer were notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 35,000 and the current mileage was 39,000. The consumer stated the speedometer and odometer would act erratic. They would return to normal when the vehicle stopped. The passenger sunvisor began to hang down slightly and then it dropped all the way down and wouldn't go back up at all. We tried everything to fix it but to no avail. The passenger can't even look forward at certain times of the day due to the sun right in their eyes. Recently, the driver's side sunvisor has now done the same thing. It is hanging down in the view of the driver and causing safety concerns. We have to drive holding it up with our hands just so we can see out of the drivers window to drive. I researched online to see if this has been a problem to other Toyota owners and was astonished at how many complaints there were regarding this problem. When I saw how many other Toyota owners were experiencing the same problem, I decided to file a complaint due to safety concerns for so many.

Drivers side visor was slipping and would not stay up in locked position. I could not see out of the front window because the visor would hang down into my view. I had to rigg something so it would hold it up. (ie duck tape). After unsuccessfully trying to get the visor to stay in the upright position, it broke completely.

In August 2011, I began to have problems with the driver side sun visor. It doesn't stay up in the folded position. At times it would all of the sudden fall open without touching it. The range of motion of the visor became very limited. Even in the down position it would not stay back. This became an issue especially when driving in the direction of bright sunlight. Not being able to position the visor as needed impeded my ability to drive safely.

The contact removed the sun visor from the vehicle in order for her to be able to see the roadway.
