Camry V6 has defective rubber oil line. If it leaks or ruptures, engine can seize.
Dealer acknowledges part is defective. Avalon has same defective part.
2005 & 2006 Avalons just had recall.
Warranty states Toyota will replace defective parts.
Warranty does not require the part to actually fail.
Problem is all over the Internet including the 2005 & 2006 Avalon on carcomplaints.com
Dealer would not pay to replace defective part but admits it would have to pay for a $6000 repair if oil line fails and engine seizes.
Cost for preemptive fix $275.
