defective oil line with rubber hose

Camry V6 has defective rubber oil line. If it leaks or ruptures, engine can seize. Dealer acknowledges part is defective. Avalon has same defective part. 2005 & 2006 Avalons just had recall. Warranty states Toyota will replace defective parts. Warranty does not require the part to actually fail. Problem is all over the Internet including the 2005 & 2006 Avalon on carcomplaints.com Dealer would not pay to replace defective part but admits it would have to pay for a $6000 repair if oil line fails and engine seizes. Cost for preemptive fix $275. This site explains the problem in depth for anyone with the 3.5L V6 built prior to 04/08:
