Camry LE 3.2L V6

Toyota Camry touts it's legendary reliability. Not so! I bought a used 2009 Camry V6 for my daughter for high school graduation in 2013 with 44K on it thinking that this car would get her through college and beyond. Boy, was I sadly mistaken.

One afternoon after running some errands with her we parked the car in the drive to unload our purchases and when she started it back up to go park it in the barn it blew a head gasket. No warnings, nothing to indicate that there might be a problem the whole afternoon.. She has only put a little over 15K miles on this car. She drives like a little old lady. This car has been very well taken care so I was totally shocked when this happened so unexpectedly. I was so thankful that the head gasket didn't blow while she was traveling. Not sure what would have happened.

We took it to the local Toyota dealership to have the car diagnosed and they want $3800 to fix it. Even though the car is not under warranty it is still has under 60K miles and there is no way this car should have blown a head gasket being so young. I wrote to Toyota to voice my concerns about this and to see if they would fix the car but they only offered $1000 as "good will" toward the repair.

Shame on Toyota! "Let's Go Places!" My daughter is very willing to pay for parts but cannot afford the labor to fix her car so as of now until her father and brother can find time to repair the car she is definitely NOT going anywhere in this car. No more Toyota's for our family!
