Just purchased this used 2010 Camry with only 12,500 miles on it. After about 2 weeks I hear a loud clicking noise from under the hood after I first start the car and drive for a few minutes. Then never hear again until I turn engine off and it does it again. Just like the other person on here.
I am afraid it has something wrong with it. Did not take to dealer yet. I bought from individual so no warranty available. Also when cold outside the engine does accelerate by itself, I see the needle on the dash. Scary....

Just bought a brand new 2010 Toyota Camry and am experiencing a crunching sound when I first put the car into drive and start accelerating. It only happens once after I start the car and put it into drive for the first time. The crunching sound seems to slow down the vehicle for a split second, then it accelerates through the crunch. After the crunch, I never get the problem to come back unless I turn off the car, turn it back on, and put it into drive again. I took it to the dealership's service dep't last night (6/30/10) and it's still waiting there this morning with no word from the dealer on what's wrong. Anyone else experienced this problem?

Every time engine cools down, acceleration speed between 15-30 mps, hard cranking noise(only once), it's feels like right under the engine
Update from May 15, 2015: it more sounds like metal touching each other, like muffler metal ...
