Wife coming home when turning in sub. car died and would not start. I had towed to my mech. who examined engine and discovered it had dropped valve piston struck same and broke valve in half driving valve back thru valve seats therefore costing more to repair than replace. Replaced engine at a costs of $2300 for engine and $1065 for labor. Toyota would not help because I did not take Toyota dealer. Car was well cared for and maintained. Toyota admitted would probably not do anything anyway because was not under warranty. This is without doubt a defective part. More than likely trade for Honda.
