Camry SE 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,803 miles

Purchased the 2011 SE Toyota in June 2011, by May 2012 The noise was unbearable over bumps any sideways torque, drive ways etc. Now I see that it is more common than just me and Toyota's fix is a mickey mouse felt lining that eventually wears away since it is metal to metal against the felt!

It was corrected until lately (about 6 yrs) with the Manufacturer's warranty. I took it back for a redo on my extended warranty and they refused stating it was interior trim not covered by the extended warranty.

My point is that they know about the problem and fix just enough to get past the warranty period then shove it to you. They should have a better fix than just felt and deserve a class action lawsuit because I know there are a lot more incidents than just these ten here. It is an obviously known problem and are sticking it to the faithful customers, this is my 4th Toyota. Never again!!! it's time to look for a lawyer who will take the case.

They build these things and should be responsible for it and stop playing these warranty games with people.

Camry XLE 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

Toyota Camry XLE 2011---About 2 years ago I notice of a crackling noise coming from the passenger side of the car. It seem to be coming from the rear. I check the shocks and brakes and every else I could think of. Didn't find a problem. Finally I was able to zero in on the noise and its coming from the sunroof. I put my hand on the frame of the sunroof while driving off the curb and I could feel it and hear it. The noise is getting louder and more frequent. I feel that it will depreciate the resale value of the car.

I search the web an found that this a common problem and Toyota is not willing to admit that it is a factory defect. I also had a 2004 Toyota Camry XLE with a sunroof that I kept for ten years and it didn't have this problem. I guess they don't make them like they used to.

I've been a loyal Toyota buyer for 20 years. It might be time to start moving on.
